 Database servers are vital elements of many sites. If a database server goes down or stops responding for some reason, the site stops. Therefore it is very important to make sure database servers work well all the time.

This class can help monitoring database servers by sending alert e-mail messages when a database server becomes inaccessible.

This way system administrators can react promptly and quickly fix problems with minimal loss to the site owners.

Detailed description

This class can be used to send alarm messages when databases are down.

It can check one or more database servers by connecting to them to see if they are up or down.

The class can send an alert e-mail or SMS message to the systems administrators when a database server is down. When the database server is up, another alert message is sent.

Currently it supports checking multiple types database servers: MySQL, Mini-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc..
